About

Aslan Selçuk ARIK is my name. I graduated with honors from the Anadolu University Fine Arts Department. I had to deal with my psychological issues while continuing to make sculptures. During these issues, I was split between avoiding art and being immersed in it. I began a phase of philosophy and psychology. During this time, I gained understanding and laid the groundwork for my current art practice. In 2015, I worked as the application manager for the Bursa Nilüfer Municipality Atatürk memorial sculpture project and the poetry clock tower projects as an assistant to artist H. Ertuğ Atlı. I began my master’s degree with thesis at Anadolu University Fine Arts Institute in 2017. I was drawn to the meaning in ancient Egypt’s interpretation of art. I may say that my readings of ancient Egypt influenced my desire to create a symbolic narrative language with mythological characters in my works. I was a member of the technical team for the Katadrom association’s Art Residency program for movie disciplines. For the past two years, I have been working as a professional independent artist in Eskişehir, creating metal sculptures. Since 2022, I’ve taken part in sculpture competitions, fairs, and exhibitions.
