Lands Untethered ︙ Inga Bragadottir

I am interested in the idea of place as a connector between the past and present, and in the idea of land and people as markers of time as opposed to quantifiable measure of time. The work in this show is about the connection between landscape, history, and family. I am inspired by various landscapes such as desert, woodlands, and sea: all natural landscapes connected to my familial lineages. Lands Untethered presents these spaces by looking at land and ancient artifacts removed from their setting, presented as a specimen with no context.
